Dr. Magdalena Avila, (DR.P.H., MPH, MSW)
Senior Director for Community Participatory Research and Public Health
Dr.P.H., MPH, MSW, is a longtime Activist Scholar and has worked closely with communities of color in the Environmental Justice Movement towards ameliorating Environmental Racism and health inequalities. She is a public health professional with expertise in Community Based Participatory Research and works to engage communities and build research partnerships with urban and rural communities of color. She is an Associate Professor in Health Education at the University of New Mexico and is affiliated with the Center for Participatory Research and a faculty fellow of the Robert Woods Johnson Center on Health Policy and a faculty member of the Southwest Hispanic Research Institute.
